Thomas Edward Wells, 82, of Jasper, passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2019, at his residence.
Family will be receiving friends Sunday, August 18, 2019, from 12 until 2 p.m., at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Service will follow at 2 p.m., in the Kilgore-Green Chapel, burial at New Prospect. Bro. Howard Thompson will officiate.
Ed got great joy from helping others and loved cooking for family and friends on his barbeque grill which he did for many family and class reunions through the years. He was a graduate of Curry High School and served his country in the National Guard and during the Berlin Crisis. Ed worked for Alabama Power for 31 years before retiring. He will be missed by many whom he loved.
He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Karen Frances Wells; parents, Sam and Anna Lou Wells; brothers, Charles Wells, Donald Wells, Lawrence Wells and John “Buck” Wells and sister, Dorothy Redmill.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Mary Frances Wells; sons, Tim Wells (Lisa) and Todd Wells (Becky); grandchildren, Ryan Wells (Alana), Trent Wells (Margarita), Karissa Wells, Dakota Smith, Allaysia Merchant and Austin Merchant; brother, Sam Wells and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
