Sgt Maj Willie Johnson

Mr. Willie was a lifelong member of the Centerview Baptist Church where he was Deacon Emeritus. He loved serving the members of the church and also the community. Mr. Willie Johnson served in the USMC for 30 years then retiring as a Sergeant Major. He will be missed by his family and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 8, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at Centerview Baptist Church with Reverend Michael Schwalm officiating. Burial will follow at the Coastal Carolina State Veteran’s Cemetery with Full Military Honors.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years: Dora Jean Johnson; son: Michael A. Johnson and wife Kembley of Rex, Ga.; daughter: Marie Edwards and husband Craig of Fayetteville, NC; sister: Gloria Washington of Capitol Heights, Md.; grandchildren: Kendall Jarmall Johnson, Caleb Amerie Johnson, Trevon Hardy, Juliene Edwards, Crashonda Edwards, Tanisha Edwards; niece: Marquette Sweat of Orangeburg, SC.

The family will receive friends at Johnson Funeral Home, Jacksonville from 6:00-8:00p.m. on Thursday, November 7, 2013.
