Sgt. Paul Michael Mauser USMC, 24 of Beulaville died Friday, August 5, 2011 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
Sgt. Paul Mauser served Honorably in the USMC where he did two tours in Iraq and one in Afghanistan. He was very proud of his unit which was the Third Battalion Sixth Marines. Paul was a combat instructor for the School of Infantry and also worked in the Infantry Training Battalion. The awards he received are as follows: Combat Action Ribbon in lieu of one Gold Star, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, three Letters of Appreciation, Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon with two Stars, National Defense Service Medal, NATO Medal-ISAF Afghanistan, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Navy Unit Commendation and Meritorious Mast. He led the Battalion JUMP Platoon from the front during combat operations in Marjah, Afghanistan.
A Funeral Service will be Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at 12:30 pm at Johnson Funeral Home Chapel, Jacksonville with Chaplain Brooks officiating. Burial will follow at the Coastal Carolina State Veteran’s Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
He is survived by his wife: Rachel Marie Mauser; son: Jacob Sawyer Mauser of the home; parents: Ken and Martha Mauser of Warren, Ohio; sister: Sabrina Mauser of Warren, Ohio.
The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 pm on Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at Johnson Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
