William "Toby" Taft Thomas

William “Toby” Taft Thomas, Jr. , 83, passed away on Wednesday March 25, 2020 in Jacksonville, FL. He was born on December 24, 1936 in Jacksonville, FL to William T. Thomas, Sr. and Marguerite Hubbard Thomas. He lived all of his life in Florida.

Mr. Thomas graduated from Landon High School in the mid 50’s. Being a very athletic man he played softball and basketball into his 60’s. He also enjoyed surf fishing and hunting. Toby greatly loved working most of his life. He retired from his last job after 23 years at the age of 81.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 63 years Miriam G. Thomas; his son Michael Thomas; daughter Deborah Lynn (Greg); brother Richard Thomas (Bonnie); grandchildren, Ryan, Gavin, Lindsay and Brooke; a great granddaughter Sadie; and many other wonderful relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday April 1, 2020 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Blvd., Jacksonville, FL. 32211. Because of the Pandemic affecting the area only groups of 10 will be allowed in the chapel at a time with 6’ spacing between visitors.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 am on Thursday morning April 2, 2020 in the Greenlawn Cemetery, 4300 Beach Blvd. Jacksonville.
