He has been a resident of Florida since1994 moving from Brooklyn, NY.
Prior to retirement he worked for the New York Transit Authority.
He was pre-deceased by his wife Dorothy in 2009.
He is survived by two sons, Bill A Tate (Susan) of St Augustine and Gerard Tate (Kathy) of Brooklyn, NY and two daughters, Christine Tate of Brooklyn, NY and Karen Wells (Steven of Tucson, AZ. Also surviving are two brothers, Joe Tate of Notre Dame and Hugh Tate (Theresa) of LI, NY, two sisters, Virginia and Maryann and 7 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 pm Friday, February 12, 2016 at the Hardage-Giddens Greenlawn Funeral Home, 4300 Beach Blvd. Jacksonville, FL 32207.
Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery.
