William "Bill" Lee Goodwin Jr.

William Lee "Bill" Goodwin Jr. passed away on June 15, 2022 at the age of 77. Born in Repton, Alabama on August 30, 1944, Bill was the first of seven children born to the late William Lee Goodwin Sr. and Zeania Lowery Goodwin. Bill grew up in the Panama Park area of North Jacksonville. He attended Andrew Jackson High School, class of 1962. At the age of 18, Bill joined the Air Force at Tyndall Airforce Base. After 4 years, Bill returned to Jacksonville and worked for the Florida Times Union as an account area manager. Bill later joined the Air National Guard, Boeing, NADEP, Lockheed Martin and NAS Civil Service until his retirement.

Bill had a passion for living life to its fullest. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, loved to tell stories, lend a listening ear and help anyone. Bill self-taught himself to play the guitar, loved listening to music and dancing the Shag. He loved riding his Harley motorcycles and was an avid gun collector. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents William and Zeania Goodwin, brothers Randy and Claude Goodwin. Bill is survived by his wife Donna Goodwin, his sisters Marie (Dave) Kenny and Faye (Corbett) Coleman, brothers Ralph Goodwin and Terry (Lynda) Goodwin, daughter Shanna (Dennis) Bragg, Stepsons Mike and David Jenkins, Stepdaughter Tori Coker. Bill leaves behind 5 grandchildren Delaney Bragg, Trey and Kaeli Jenkins, Harlie and Chloe Jenkins. Many cousins, nephews and nieces. As well as so many friends.

A visitation for Bill will be held Wednesday, June 22, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at The Legacy Lodge, 4801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207. A memorial service will occur Thursday, June 23, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 4801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207. A reception will occur, 4801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207.
