Walter Raybon Wilson “Ray,” age 84, passed away on April 17, 2015. He was born April 21, 1930 in Perry, FL. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps, Air Force and Air National Guard. He was a veteran of WWII and the Korean War. He worked for Owen Illinois, currently Jefferson Smurfit, followed by owning and operating San Marco Hair Styles. Ray loved golf and motorcycling and was a longtime Shrine member.
Ray is survived by his wife, Betty Sutherland of Melrose, FL; daughter, Robin Wilson and her husband Randy Hull of St. Augustine, FL; sisters, Glenda Simpson and Joan Parker of Perry, FL; numerous nieces and nephews.
Ray was a kind and generous man with a wonderful sense of humor. He was loved by all that knew him and will be sincerely missed.
Visitation and Celebration of Life Reception will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, April 23 in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin, where Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 24. Interment to follow at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd. Jacksonville, FL 32218.
