Timothy Lee Lawrence, age 61, died 12/26/2019, in Jacksonville, FL. Tim Lawrence was born and grew up in Jacksonville, attending St. Paul’s in Riverside and Bolles School with a scholarship. He was one time Latin Derivative Champion for the State of Florida. A talented artist and writer, he was one of the founding members of Imagimation, a creature fabrication, animation, and special effects group in Jacksonville.
Tim had an extensive career in Hollywood as an actor, artist, puppeteer, make up and special effects artist including concept sculptor for “Jurassic Park”, character design for the Shrek franchise, roles in “Beetlejuice”, “Ghostbusters 1 & 2”, “Gremlins 2”, “Harry and the Hendersons”,”Howard the Duck”, “Starman”, “Thriller”, and many more. He was a member of SAG-AFTRA (Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists)
Tim was predeceased by his parents, Phenis and Lillian Lawrence; baby sister Melody; aunt Ernestine Warnock; and brother-in-law Francis (Monk) Bonasorte. He is survived by sister Beverly Lawrence Bonasorte, her children, T.J. and Rocky; brother Robert (Ruth) Lawrence, their children, Brock and Colton; brother David (Bonny) Lawrence and their children, Brooke and Taylor. He is also survived by a family of friends, Catherine and Jane Anne Carey, Karl Boecklen, and many others who miss him so much.
A family service will be held Saturday, January 4, 2020, 2:00 PM at Pine Level Cemetery, Oxford, Florida. Pastor Craig Attaway presiding.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, January 25, 2020, 1 PM to 5 PM at the family home. 2014 Woodmere Circle, Jacksonville, Florida.
