Sybil Schofield Stubbs Johnson died on February 12, 2017 in DeLand Florida. She was 93 years young. Sybil was born in Gaskin, Florida and moved to Quincy as a little girl where she lived throughout her formative years. She met and married Ken Stubbs in Jacksonville, Florida where she resided for more than 40 years. Sybil and Ken had two children, Debra June and Gregory Kenneth. Sybil was heavily involved in the Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for over 30 years. She was a member of North Jacksonville Baptist Church and Heights Baptist Church in Pensacola, FL. Once her husband Ken died in 1997 she remarried and moved to Pensacola, Florida with Edsel Johnson. Upon his death in 2008 she moved to DeLand, Florida to be near her children and grandchildren. She remained there until her death.
Sybil was predeceased by brothers, Earl Schofield, Lawton Schofield, Carlton Schofield, Golden Schofield, and a sister Juanita Johnson. Sybil's daughter died in October of 2012.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 from 12:00pm to 1:00pm followed by the service at 1:00pm at Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Chapel, 4801 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, Florida with Rev. Josh Reavis, officiating.
