Susan Cheryl Comeau Dugan of Jacksonville, 75, died early morning Wednesday December 18th at home. Her death was sudden and unexpected. She was diagnosed with cancer in May of 2019 and had completed radiation and chemotherapy with great success. She was born in Medford, Massachusetts on July 11th, 1944. She was predeceased by parents Victor Joseph Comeau and Margaret Frances (Leigher) Saraco and Frank ‘Babe’ Saraco.
Susan believed in making every occasion a celebration! She loved buying and making gifts for others, making jewelry, knitting, baking sweets, and reading novels. Susan and Bob loved to travel the world and especially loved cruising. Amsterdam was one of her favorites. She had a special relationship with her doctor, dentist, neighbors, and her hairdresser who was a dear friend. She would always go out of her way to make someone feel special with a thoughtful gift. She was sweet and feisty, stubborn and creative, generous and so very funny. She was so very beautiful inside and out and she will be missed everyday for the rest of our lives. She loved flowers, especially tulips. She adored fruit of all kinds. She loved raspberry tea, scallops, shrimp, and pasta. She loved her friends, family, husband, and especially her grandchildren.
Susan is survived by her husband of 30 years, Robert Dugan; 3 daughters Amanda Prince (John), Vicki Figueroa (Mark), and Holly Ravelo (Ricky); stepdaughter Jaime Slavik (Tim); and 9 grandchildren: Dominique Ramos, Ava Ravelo, Anthony Ravelo, Mia Prince, Lily Prince, Gabriel Figueroa, Haleigh Slavik, Madison Slavik, and Ella Slavik. Also by 3 sisters Theresa Polkey, Maria Powers, Patricia Downey; 2 brothers Michael and Gilbert Comeau; cousin Karen Arnau and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was previously employed as a HR Director at JoyServ (Toyota) and a Budget Secretary at the Duval County School Board before she retired.
Her memorial service will be held at 10am on Saturday, December 21st at Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Chapel, Taylor Hall at 4801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, Florida 32207.
