Sue Rewis, age 82, passed away peacefully at her home on March 28, 2019 in Jacksonville, Florida. Sue was born on April 22, 1936 in Eastman, Georgia to Sidney and Glynda Miller. Sue was a longtime member, along with her husband Billy, of the American Legion Post 137. She was also a managing broker for FHA and VA, and also worked as a mail carrier. She worked for Cohen Brothers for a period of time as well. Sue had many interests and hobbies. She loved to sew, draw, paint, loved to travel with her husband, was an avid reader, many interests involving history, and also loved swimming. Sue is described as a lady who was a very intelligent, loving, and cared for her family and friends dearly.
Sue is survived by her loving and faithful husband of almost 68 years, Billy Rewis; two daughters Glynda Newton (Clifford) and Sherree Lynch (Tom); one son Mark Rewis; six grandchildren Victoria, Phillip, Josh, Chris, Billy, and Ashley ; nine great-grandchildren James, Elizabeth, Bailey, Ashlyn, Alexis, Peirceson, Kirsten, Blake, and Leia; and sisters Jeannie, Jane, and Angela.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 31, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park and Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior beginning at 1:00 p.m.
