Samuel Lee Aldridge, 71, of Jacksonville, FL passed away on October 11, 2021. He was born in Rome, GA on November 25, 1949. Sam volunteered with the Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department followed by 5 years in the United States Navy. He then had a career as a Sheriff Deputy with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office where he retired after 28 years of protecting and serving his community.
Sam was a member of the American Legion and had a passion for playing the organ, the electric guitar and singing, especially karaoke.
He is preceded in passing by his parents, Ralph and Sue Aldridge and brother in law, Jeff Wilson.
Sam is survived by his beloved wife of 17 years, Teresa Aldridge, brother, Eddy (Rhonda), sister, Donna, stepchildren, grandchildren and many loving family and friends.
A visitation will be held on Monday, October 18, 2021, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Hardage-Giddens Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL, 32205. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at Hope for Life Baptist Church, 7725 Ramona Blvd W., Jacksonville, FL, 32221 with a Burial to follow, 1:00 pm at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park and Funeral Home.
