Ronnie Lee Brown was born to the late Ezekiel Brown and Mary Ann Jones on October 19, 1955 in Live Oak, FL. Ronnie was the oldest of 6 siblings, three of whom preceded him in death-Phyllis Dennis, Marvetta Brown and Gloria Dennis. Lonnie Brown and Ezekiel Brown Jr. are left to cherish his memories. On May 5, 2022, Ronnie went to his heavenly home after a brief health battle.
Ronnie leaves behind a devoted wife Rae "Suga" Brown; his children LaTisha Brown-Cross, Julian Brown, LaMesha Brown and former wife Sharon Brown; three grandchildren Brianna, Brandon, Julian and a host of special family members, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, brother, sister-in-laws and friends.
After retiring as a drill sergeant in the Army, Ronnie went into serving our children in the Jacksonville, FL area as a director for the Upstart program. He then gracefully transitioned into his final work career as an Equal Opportunity Investigator. Ronnie retired with the City of Jacksonville December 2022.
Ronnie received his bachelor's degree in sociology from Cameron University and masters degree in human resources management from Webster University.
He was a Florida Supreme Court Certified Mediator and Arbitrator.
Ronnie lived his life to the fullest. He was a dedicated Dallas Cowboys fan. There was never a day his family did not feel loved, supported and proud to be a Brown. He loved to entertain and never met a stranger along his life’s journey. He will be missed by many and his legacy will live on to cherish him-Rest in Heaven, Job Well Done.
A visitation for Ronnie will be held Sunday, May 15, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 11801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32223, followed by a celebration of life at 3:00 PM.
