He was born in Jacksonville on June 13, 1944. He graduated with Paxon High School’s c/o 1962. He joined the US Army and served during the Vietnam War receiving the Purple Heart. He was medically retired after 17 years of service and was a 100% Disabled Veteran. Roger was a member of South Middleburg Baptist Church and enjoyed a lifelong interest in motorcycles and classic cars.
He was married to Patricia on July 10, 1966. Roger is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Patricia, brother Clarence Jr, children Debbie and Roger, Jr., grandchildren Avery, Alex, Corbin, Aiden, Bronwyn, Lavenly, and other family and friends.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6pm until 8pm on Wednesday, August 24, 2016. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10 am on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at Jacksonville National Cemetery with Pastor Delton Kilpatrick officiating.
