Robert Kay Mobley was a kind and generous man who loved spending time with Family and Friends. He retired from the United States Navy after 38 years of outstanding service as an Aviation Machinist. After military retirement, he continued his education in Small Engine Repair, Motorcycle Dealership Management, Marine Mechanic, Diesel & Heavy Equipment Mechanics, and Welding. His education was a testament to his motivation, integrity and lived life with purpose by setting an example for others to follow. He enjoyed traveling, church fellowship, and sharing his military career and stories with everyone. Robert enjoyed his grandchildren, their special relationship and being part of their lives. We were so blessed to have him in our lives and he will be deeply missed.
Robert is Survived by three daughters; Tammy (Larry) McKay of Hastings FL, Tina (Gerald) Groe of De Pere WI, two Grandchildren - Michael Groe of Jacksonville FL, and Katie Groe of Green Bay WI, and daughter Lisa (Mike) Poremba of St. Johns FL. Surviving Brother & Sister; Cameron (Carolyn) Mobley of Moorsville, IN. and Wanda Mobley of Martinsville, IN.
Robert was preceded in death by parents, Robert F. Mobley and Inez Sowers. By marriage; Margie Wright-Mobley, and Marilyn Lucas-Mobley.
Robert will be cremated and laid to rest at Jacksonville National Cemetery with full military Honors on October 10, 2018 at 10:30 am. Respecting Robert’s wishes, no viewing or additional services will occur. In lieu of flowers, Robert wished that donations be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research (stjude.org/donate now), or feel free to donate to a worthy cause ‘in memory of Robert Kay Mobley’ to help others. HARDAGE-GIDDENS RIVERSIDE MEMORIAL PARK and FUNERAL HOME is serving the family.
