Robert W. ”Buddy” Roberts, age 79, went to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday May 29 2014 in Jacksonville, FL. Robert was born March 15, 1935 in Iron City, Tennessee to James Leo and Jennie Mae (Dishongh) Roberts. He was veteran of the United States Navy and continued to serve working for NADEP for a total of 39 years. Robert enjoyed spending hours challenging his mechanical abilities by pulling and rebuilding many motors especially in VW Bugs. He also was a member of the Moose Lodge Post 2020 and the American Legion Post 5443. Robert leaves behind to cherish his memories his loving wife of 60 years, Betty Roberts; son Anthony “Tony” Roberts (Anne); daughter Brenda Roberts and significant other Lamar; grandsons Robert D Ward and Matthew Ward. Family will receive friends and family 6:00 – 8:00 pm Sunday, June 1, 2014 at Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205, www.townandcountryfuneralhome.com . Funeral Services will be 2:00 pm Monday, June 2, 2014 at the funeral home. Interment will follow services at Riverside Memorial Park.
