Robert A. Braund

Bob was born January 27, 1944 in Wooster, Ohio to the late William and Cornelia Braund.

Bob was a veteran of the US Air Force and a graduate of The Ohio State University. He retired from Independent Life and Life of the South. He is remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He never knew a stranger. Bob loved fishing, shrimping, boating and anything on the water. He was passionate about Ohio State football, Jacksonville Jaguars and NASCAR.

Bob is survived by his wife of 49 years, Carole Braund; daughters, Debbie Higdon (Robbie) and Kelly Burnett (Daryl); grandchildren, Philip Burnett, Hannah Burnett and Grace Higdon; brother, Bill Braund (Marilyn); sister, Betsy Thornburgh; and many other loving family members and friends.

Family and Friends will gather on Sunday, May 6 from 2-4 pm with Words of Remembrance being shared at 2 pm in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin. Graveside Service will be held on Monday, May 7 at 2 pm in Jacksonville National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
