She was born March 1, 1925 in Sarrebruck, France, to Georges and Renee Bouvet. She grew up in France. During World War II and while living in Casablanca and working for Texaco Oil Company as a secretary, she met Joseph E. Luteran, who was serving in the U.S. Navy there. After the war, they married December 10, 1949 in Dearborn, Michigan.
They lived in Dearborn until 1953, when they moved to San Gabriel, California.
In 1991, the couple moved to Brookings where they both enjoyed beachcombing together. Renee enjoyed oil painting and won several awards at Pelican Bay Arts Association shows over the years. Renee loved animals and regularly supported several charities and causes benefitting them.
She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph. Survivors include sons Joseph R. Luteran and his wife Karen of St. Augustine, Florida; Edward B. Luteran of Wasilla, Alaska; George R. Luteran and his wife Julia of Whittier, Calif.; grandchildren Michelle D. Busch, Cheryl A. Strackbein, and Virginia (Ginee’) Luteran; great-grand daughters Haley Busch, Chelsea Busch, and Ashley Strackbein.
Interment will be private at the Eagle Point National Cemetery, Medford, Oregon.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home in Jacksonville, Florida.
