Ramona Mahoney Barnes

Born December 23, 1931, in Corner Brook, Newfoundland to Michael and Hannah Mahoney & affectionately known as ‘Queen of the Island’. She is predeceased by her loving husband, Thomas ‘Buddy’ Barnes; her parents; her brothers Patrick & Michael Mahoney; her sisters Loretta Icard & Sheila Wilson; daughter & son-in-law Sherry & Perry Winters; & her grandson Michael Duncan, Jr. She is survived by her sisters Iris (Ronald) Stalker & Joni Richards; her son Gary (Cheri) Brazel; her daughter Staci (Michael) Duncan; her stepchildren Thomas Barnes, Jr., Richard Barnes, & Tina Lourcey; her grandchildren Amanda (Ken) Pendleton, Sean Winters, Nicole Winters, & Hannah Duncan; & a host of other grandchildren, great grandchildren, & great-great grandchildren. She was a faithful member of Christ the King Catholic Church, the Council of Catholic Women, the Red Hats Society, & K’CEEs for many years. She was a loving housewife, mother, & grandmother. She had a passion for dancing, praying, shopping, & singing. Her many friends & relatives will miss her bright & beautiful smile.

The "Queen's" viewing will be held Thursday, January 5, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Hardage - Giddens Greenlawn Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4300 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207. A funeral service will occur Friday, January 6, 2023 from 11:00 AM at Christ the King Catholic Church, 742 Arlington Road North, Jacksonville, FL 32211 followed by a reception. A graveside service will occur Friday, January 6, 2023 from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM, 4300 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207.
