Peter John Barr

Peter John Barr, 78, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2022 in Jacksonville, Florida surrounded by his wife and son. Born on September, 16, 1943 he is preceded in death by his parents Paul and Phyllis, and twin brother Paul. Those that mourn his death are extensive; his beloved wife of 46 years, Karen; his son Jason (Melissa); beloved grandchildren, Brayden, Austin, and Addilyn; and his siblings Margie, Polly (George), Joe (Jane), Mary Jo (Duane), Phyllis (Jim), Therese (Charlie), John (Robin), Helen (Scott), Betty (Carl), Martha (Rusty), Graciela, Mirella, and many nieces, nephews, and countless friends.

Peter had a zest for life that was contagious to all that met him. He loved golf, wood-working art, water volleyball, and helping others. His greatest passion was his grandchildren and he was always there to love and nurture them. Papa was often referred to as the “yes” man and the kids knew it! He made friends wherever he went through life and was always a thoughtful and caring person. He wanted people to know, as Frank Sinatra said, “I did it my way”.

There will be a private service for family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Joanne’s House at Hope Hospice, 27200 Imperial Parkway, Bonita Springs, FL, 34135.
