Patricia Ann (Pat) Smith passed away on December 18th after a brief struggle with lung cancer. She was born on December 14th, 1931 in Rockford, Illinois. She has been a resident of Jacksonville since 1962 after her husband was transferred here with the U. S. Navy. Pat was a full-time, devoted mother and ultimately found great pleasure in employment with the Ramona Flea Market. She loved working in the office, greeting customers and vendors until her retirement. She resided at Taylor Manor for the last two years and greatly enjoyed making new friends there. Pat never met a stranger. Pat was predeceased two weeks earlier by her husband of 59 years, Lee Roy Smith. She is survived by her three children; Debra (Don) Braddock and Steve Smith of Jacksonville and Michael (Telva) Smith of Miami. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren, whom she adored; Trista (Xavier) Bussiere, Jillian (Bryan) Braswell, Ashley and Christian Smith, as well as three great-grandchildren. In accordance with her wishes, Pat was cremated and will be buried with her husband. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 on January 12 at Hardage-Giddens Town &Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205, www.townandcountryfuneralhome.com . In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in her honor to the Community Hospice of Northeast Florida,4266 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32257 where she was provided with wonderful care in her last days.
