Ora Mae Kaigler

Ora Mae Kaigler was born on June 28, 1937 in Oglethorpe, GA to Mrs. Ida Mae Tookes and the late Daniel W. Tookes. On Tuesday, January 20, 2015 she departed her life and entered into eternal glory to be with the Lord. Ora was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Mr. Joe Kaigler for ten years. Her life journey began in Oglethorpe, GA and took her to Miami, FL, Jacksonville, FL, Huntsville, AL and then back to Jacksonville, FL. She was employed as a Surgical Technician for many years and after retiring donated her time as a volunteer at the Lane Wiley Senior Center. In addition to volunteering at the center, she was also a member of the center’s Stair Stepper Dancer group. Ora was a devoted Christian and became a member of the Ark of Safety Church when she returned to Jacksonville, FL. Ora was preceded by her late son Gregory Thomas, of Jacksonville, FL, her sister Mrs. Mary Respert of College Park, GA, and three brothers, John Thomas Tookes, Otis Tookes, and Larry Tookes, all of Oglethorpe, GA. She leaves to cherish her memories: Her mother Mrs. Ida Mae Tookes of Atlanta, GA; two daughters and one son, Belinda Williams, Regenia Williams and Michael Thomas, all of Jacksonville, FL. Five sisters - Ms. Illene Sykes of Atlanta, GA, Mrs. Bernice(Christopher) Sabb of Jacksonville, FL, Mrs. Ardean (Carlton) Adams of Lithonia, GA, Mrs. Betty Sue (Benny) Jones of Oglethorpe, GA, and Mrs. Parthenia (Nathaniel) Johnson of Lithonia, GA. Three brothers - Mr. William Tookes of Orlando, FL, Mr. Milton (Louise) Tookes and Mr. Modis Tookes, both of Jacksonville, FL. Five grandchildren - Dominique Williams, Courtney Williams, Ashley Thomas, all of Jacksonville, FL, Tenisha Thomas, Gregory Thomas Jr., both of Miami, FL, and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Family will receive friends and family 6:00-8:00 pm Friday January 23, 2015 at Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205, www.townandcountryfuneralhome.com.
