Nabiha Musa Farah

Nabiha was born on November 12th, 1932, in Jerusalem, Palestine and was raised in the town of Ramallah. She was the last of 12 children from Rasheeda and Musa Mikhail. Nabiha immigrated to the United States in 1951 where she attended nursing school in Wilmington, Delaware. She moved to Jacksonville in 1955 and married Mansour (Mike) Easa Farah in 1956 at St. John’s Episcopal Cathedral. Nabiha is predeceased by her parents, her husband Mike and 11 siblings. She is survived by her three daughters, Cynthia Farah, Brenda Bateh (Ed), and Judy Sessions (Jerry). She is also survived by her two grandchildren, Edward Bateh and Elizabeth Bateh, two sisters-in-law, Suad Farah and Brenda Farah, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Nabiha began her nursing career at St. Luke’s hospital and then spent 33 years at Baptist Medical Center. She excelled in a life of service and was well respected by all. She made many friends with fellow nurses, physicians, and others within the hospital setting. Her professionalism and work ethic were imparted to her three daughters who all followed in a career of service, two in healthcare and one in education. Nabiha was very proud of her daughters, and they were also proud of her life’s work and accomplishments.

Nabiha and Mike were always very active with events involving the Masonic Lodge, Shriners, and related organizations. They both thoroughly enjoyed traveling with friends and family as well as attending football games and other community events. Nabiha’s travel experiences included trips to China, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, and many countries in Europe. She also made return trips to her homeland and other areas in the Middle East. She continued to stay active with attending TPC, ladies group events, the Hollyridge neighborhood Social Group, parties (always parties!) and one last trip to Alaska in 2019.

Nabiha will be missed by her family and many friends. We are all blessed to have had her in our lives.

One of Nabiha’s loves was gardening and bright, beautiful flowers. In the spirit of celebrating her life , she had requested colorful clothing as attire for her funeral service.
