Melida Rodriguez

She lived in Cali, Colombia before relocating to Jacksonville in 1984 to bring her family together again after migrating from Colombia. She married her beloved husband, Luis A. Rodriguez on April 1, 1956, 67 years of marriage which God provided them with six children, Luis Alberto (Beto), Cesar Augusto (Guacha), Maria Elena (Muñeca), Jorge Enrique (Kike), Julio y Alexandra (Sandra); Ten grandchildren, Diana, Steve, Jonathan, Brianna, Edward, Cristina, Jose Luis, Julian Andres, Francisco Javier y Alexandra along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Melida loved spending time at home with her family, cooking and family gatherings to bring the family together. She always welcomed anyone to her house and would make them feel part of the family. Her Catholic faith was very important to her, and she instilled that on all her children and grandchildren. Family was her happiness and caring, serving and loving made her very happy.

She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Assumption Catholic Church, 2403 Atlantic Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32207 at 11:00 am on Tuesday, March 26, 2024. Father Heriberto Vergara will officiate. Interment will follow at Hardage -Giddens Greenlawn Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4300 Beach Boulevard, Jacksonville, Florida 32207.
