Mary Ann Phillips, 75, of Jacksonville FL, went home to be with the Lord, Sep 19, 2013. She was born in Springfield MA to the late Roy and Mary Miller. She married John Phillips in 1959 and resided in West Springfield as a loving wife and mother for over 30 years.
Mary Ann enjoyed a cup of hot tea and many friendships at her kitchen table in her West Springfield home. Her door was always open to friends and neighbors to share conversation, life and laughter. She also enjoyed playing bingo especially when her husband was calling the numbers, for she believed he was everyone’s favorite caller at the Knights of Columbus Hall.
In 1993, Mary Ann and her husband moved to Jacksonville FL where she resided until her death.
Mary Ann is survived by her husband, John Phillips, her children, Diane Troutman of Jacksonville, John Jr. and his wife Sue of W. Springfield, Richard and his wife Dawna Parent of Deltona FL, Brian and his wife Nancy of Chicopee MA, Susanne Phillips of Middleburg FL, and Andrew Phillips of Jacksonville FL. She also leaves behind grandchildren Amanda Hernandez, Mary Carlson, Jessica Phillips, Thomas Troutman, Michael Lyons, Megan Long, Justin Long, and great grandchildren, Casey McCormick, Malaki Baez and Laci Lyons. Her surviving brothers are Roy Miller and wife Margaret, of West Springfield and Robert Miller and wife Gail, of East Longmeadow.
Throughout her life, Mary Ann enjoyed many things like reading, writing, beading, CB radio and lots of bingo, but her love and caring for her family and friends, her children and most importantly her husband, John, was the most important to her. The companionship, friendship, love, honesty, feistiness, and the laughter she showed us all will be dearly missed.
