Mary Katherine “Kay” Brown, 92, of Green Cove Springs passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2013. Kay is preceded in death by her parents, Darius Lawman and Josephine Gray of Elkins, WV, and her loving husband of 55 years, Floyd L. (Brownie) Brown, Jr. in 2002. She is survived by daughters Kathryn Brown (Rick) of Birmingham, AL and Karen Durden (Tim) and grandchildren Corey, Kelsey and Kayla Durden of Jacksonville Beach, FL. Kay proudly served her country as a nurse in the United States Navy. Her hobbies were reading and working crossword puzzles. Kay will be remembered for her love of family, kind heart and determined spirit. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Hardage-Giddens Town and Country Funeral Home located at 7242 Normandy Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL 32205. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1, at Riverside Memorial Park located at 7242 Normandy Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL 32205. Pastor Terry Gore of Franklin Street Baptist Church will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association (P.O.
