Marjorie Seavey Barkey, 88, passed away peacefully Saturday evening, January 4, 2020. Marjorie was born in Jacksonville, Florida and graduated from Landon High School. She graduated from West Liberty University in West Liberty, West Virginia where she achieved a degree in Dental Hygiene and met her late husband, Clarence “Buck” Barkey. Marjorie’s greatest achievements were raising her five children and performing her occupation of 30 years as a Dental Hygienist. Marjorie spent the majority of her retired years traveling around the United States with her daughter, Helen Richards (Bill), and two grandchildren whom she dearly adored, Anthony and Angela Richards, in their 34-foot motorhome. She accomplished and thoroughly enjoyed visiting and exploring 40 states. She also had a lifelong passion for sewing and making beautiful clothes and quilts. Marjorie is preceded in death by her husband Clarence “Buck” Barkey, her mother Ruth Collins Seavey, her father Wesley Worthington Seavey and her sister Nancy Seavey Nesbitt. She is survived by her five children, Norman Barkey, Dr. Michael Barkey, Annette MacDowell, Raymond Barkey and Helen Richards (Bill), all of Jacksonville, Florida, seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. A graveside funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, January 10, 2020 at Greenlawn Cemetery, 4300 Beach Boulevard, Jacksonville, Florida 32207.
