Mabel Sigmon, 88, gained her angel wings on Monday, April 9th, 2018 at her residence surrounded by family. She was born on September 25th, 1929 in Bristol, Virginia to George E. and Carrie Pendergrass.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Fred H., Sr., her parents, and two sons, Fred, Jr. and William E. Sigmon. She was also preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers: sisters, Little Bille and Frances Sigmon and brothers, Bobby and George A. Pendergrass. She is survived by two daughters, Ann Hatcher of Jacksonville, Florida and Brenda(Charlie) Fisher of Hortense, Ga and one son, Gary (Benita) Sigmon of Jacksonville, Florida and one sister, Shirley Fifi of Jacksonville, Florida. She has 17 grandkids and 41 great grandkids.
Mabel spent most of her life in Jacksonville, Florida being a wife to her husband of 49 1/2 years, a wonderful mother to 5 children and the best granny any grandkid could ever ask for. She enjoyed spending 11 years being a school crossing guard and was of the Baptist faith. She had a heart made of gold and left a mark in anyone's heart that she came in contact with. Our hearts will never be the same without her.
Visitation will be held from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Friday, April 13th, 2018 at Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills Funeral Home at 850 St Johns Bluff Road North. The funeral service take place at 12:00pm on Saturday, April 14th, 2018 at Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills Funeral Home with Reverend Tommy Capps officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Hills Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Bobby Pendergrass, Kenneth Blake, Kenny Anderson, T.I. Brown, Roger Hatcher, Junior Sigmon, Stanley Overton, and Jerry Blake.
