She was born and raised in the Jacksonville area, graduating from St. Paul’s Catholic School in Jax Beach, from Bishop Kenny H.S. in 1966, and from Jacksonville University. Nell won many ribbons showing her horse, Days of Grace, throughout northeast Florida and South Georgia.
Nell worked as a medical technologist for many years, at Baptist Hospital and NavCare. She then changed careers and worked in medical insurance for First Coast Oncology and Northeast Florida Infectious Disease Center for several years. When illness prevented her from working full time she was employed by Child Guidance Center.
She loved her family, gardening and birds, and was especially devoted to The Blessed Mother, cutting her roses or buying them so that there would always be fresh ones before her statue at Prince of Peace church. She was a devoted mother, sister and friend. Nell was delighted to be a Master Gardener.
Lynelle is predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Marjorie Todd. She is survived by her daughter, Jillie Duval of Jacksonville; her sister Suzanne Cooper (Steve) and her niece, Sara Cooper of Tampa; her faithful friend Ruth Chewning, and many other friends and cousins.
The family especially appreciates the care provided to Lynelle by Dr. Alan Marks and Northeast Florida Community Hospice.
A visitation, followed by recitation of the Rosary, will held from 6-8pm on Friday, July 13, 2012 at Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills Funeral Home, 850 St. Johns Bluff Road N., Jacksonville. The Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10:30am, July 14, 2012 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 6320 Bennett Road, Jacksonville. Interment will follow in Chapel Hills Memory Gardens.
