Lula Jeanette Forrester 80, wife of 47 years to Millard Lee Forrester residing in Jacksonville Florida, passed away into the arms of Jesus on November 20, 2024 in the care of hospice, surrounded by her husband and son.
For over 40 years, she was the owner and operator of Peb's Paperback Book Exchange in Arlington. She was known far and wide for her sweet smile, gregarious personality, and knowledge of just about everything in the written word. She had a love for Jesus, her husband M.L., cooking, and gardening.
Jeanette was the faithful loving wife to M.L. (Millard Lee) Forrester, and is predeceased by her mother Willie Lee Wilbanks, and Father George Washington Wilbanks. She is survived by sons Brooks Holtzendorff of South Carolina, Erik Holtzendorff of Virginia, a Grandson Michael , and Granddaughter Laura. Also, a sister Gail Miller (spouse Waymon) , and brothers Larry (spouse Gladdis), and Dwight(spouse Debbie). She is also survived by a stepson Scot Forrester, and stepdaughter Lee Plumb. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Jeanette loved sharing her faith, especially with those that were also burdened by sickness. As a cancer survivor, she had a special way of encouraging people and empathizing with their fight.
A Visitation for Lula will be held Monday, November 25, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills Funeral Home, 850 St Johns Bluff Road North, Jacksonville, FL 32225, followed by a Graveside service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
