Lela Mae Lee, age 78, passed away Thursday, November 22, 2018, in Jacksonville, Florida. Lela was born on January 4, 1940 in Jacksonville to Abner Gaston and Lela Bean Gaston. Lela graduate from Paxon High School, and was a lifelong Jacksonville resident. Lela enjoyed crocheting, and had a love for Boxers and the Florida Gators. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend; she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Carl Edward Lee; her parents Abner and Lela Gaston; her sister Mary Virginia Lane; and her brothers C.A. Gaston and John Thomas Gaston. She is survived by her loving son David Bennett (Teresa) ; grandson Christopher Bennett; sister Elizabeth Davis; daughter-in-law Joanne Bennett; nieces Betty, Jackie, and Robin; and nephews Arthur and Michael.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park and Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m.
