Kenneth Reid Wilson, age 69, went to be with our Lord and Savior on August 22, 2018. He was at home with his family which is where he wanted to be. Ken was born on April 18, 1949 in Portsmouth, Virginia to Reid and Audra Nabors Wilson.
Ken was a graduate of Escambia High School at the University of West Florida in Pensacola, Florida. He was a project manager for Southern Bell, AT&T, Lucent Technologies, and Avaya. After retiring in 2001, he worked for Gordon Jewelry and Zales. He was proud of his service in the United States Navy from 1970 to 1972 during the Vietnam era. As a young father, he was a Boy Scout leader, going on many camping trips and giving guidance and leadership to many young men as they worked to Eagle Scout.
Ken was preceded in death by his father, Reid Wilson, and by many aunts and uncles. He is survived by his mother Audra Nabors Wilson, Pensacola, Florida; beloved wife, Sally Lewis Wilson, Jacksonville, Florida; son, Jeffrey Ryan Wilson (Andrea), Jacksonville, Florida; step-son, Adam Nelms (Kim), Jacksonville, Florida; sister, Sharon Wilson Katona (Ralph), Pensacola, Florida; and grandchildren, Clare, Reid, and Kayla, Jacksonville, Florida. He is also survived by nephews, Kevin Reid Katona, Tuscaloosa, Alabama and Steven John Katona (Brand) Birmingham, Alabama; and great nieces and great nephew, Maddie, Jacob, and Sarah Birmingham, Alabama and Allison and Kaitlyn Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
A Visitation will be held on September 10, 2018 from 11:00 AM -1:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 11801 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, Florida, 32223. A Burial Service will follow at 2:00 PM at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd., Jacksonville, Florida 32218 in Lane 1.
