She was born on August 31, 1949 in Washington, DC, the daughter of James and Audrey Callan. She married her high school sweetheart, Gary Stoner on August 9, 1969. Kathleen worked as a Registered Nurse for 30 years.
Kathleen was a devoted and loving mother. She was very proud of her family and was excited to become a Nana to her 5 grandchildren. Kathleen loved holidays and family get-togethers; any chance to spend time with her family was important to her. Christmas was her favorite holiday in which she enjoyed baking cookies, collecting Hallmark ornaments and decorating the family Christmas tree. She was a devoted fan of the University of Michigan. She enjoyed quiet nights reading, sitting by the pool and fire, scrapbooking, and quality time with her family, especially her grandchildren. It was the little things in life that gave her the most fulfillments.
She leaves to cherish her memories her beloved husband, Gary of 48 years; and their children, Mark Stoner, Shannon Kennedy (Steve) and Ryan Stoner (Stacey); grandchildren, Kaden Stoner (14), Madison Kennedy (14), Cameron Kennedy (13), Parker Stoner (11), and Peyton Stoner (4); brother, James Callan (Marybeth) of Buford, GA; sister, Collen Temple (Denny) of Cheboygan, MI; brother, Michael Callan (Lorey) of Rock Hill, SC; and sister, Kelly Morgan (Scott) of Sebring, FL; 10 nephews; 3 nieces; and friends including her devoted best friend, Linda Everett.
She was preceded in death by her father James Callan and her mother, Audrey Callan.
Family and friends will celebrate Kathleen’s life from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 8, 2018 in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin.
