Judy C. Rolens, 54, passed away on July 5, 2015 at her home. She was born in Jacksonville, Florida on March 29, 1961 to Edwin Laverne Walker and Juanita Carter Walker, who both preceded her in death. Judy was also preceded in death by her daughter Mary, whom she loved very much and missed every day. Judy was outgoing, funny and loved being around people. She was one of the friendliest people you could have come across, who always had her heart open for everyone, ready to help in any way she could. Whether it be a hug, an ear, a meal, a home or a shoulder to cry on, she gave what she could for anyone. She was known by her children’s friends as “a hip and cool mom,” who never met a stranger, speaking to anyone as if she had known them for years. Judy was a devoted, caring and nurturing mother and grandmother. Her grandchildren Khristian, Ethian, Riley and Blaine were so special to her; she made sure to tell everyone how much she loved them and how proud she was of them. Judy enjoyed spending time with her family in any way she could. Some of her favorite times with her family were celebrating birthdays and holidays with laughter, love and eating. She enjoyed talking on the phone with anyone who would talk just to catch up or to stay in touch. She was truly the heart of the family, making it her mission to keep everyone linked together. And her family knows that although the “family chain is broken . . . the chain will link again.” She is remembered for her endless love, support, encouragement and care for others. She was a simple woman: as long as there was family to love, music to listen to and new clothes to wear, she had a smile on her face. Judy provided for her family in many ways that are indescribable, and she is cherished by all. She was kind, generous and helpful to everyone who knew her and even those who didn’t. She will forever be missed and never forgotten. She is survived by her daughter Meagen Noel Collins (Dwayne) and her two grandsons, Khristian and Ethian Collins; and her son William “Billy” Woodland, Jr. (Nicole) and her two grandsons, Riley and Blaine Woodland. Judy is also survived by siblings. The family will receive friends and loved ones for a visitation on Saturday, July 25 at 11:00 am. The funeral service will be conducted Saturday, July 25th at 12:00 noon with the interment immediately following at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Hardage-Giddens Town and Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205 (www.townandcountryfuneralhome.com). We encourage family and friends to add memories and loving comments to remember Judy. The family would like to ask that in lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to http://www.youcaring.com/meagen-collins-389245 to help with final resting costs for Judy.
