Judith Marie Gilliard Taylor, 67 of Jacksonville, FL unexpectedly passed away on January 23, 2022 at Baptist Medical Center. She had been admitted with a severe autoimmune disorder but had rallied and made a turn around. The loss is devastating.
She was the oldest of three children in a Marine family, born on October 10, 1954 at NAS Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida . A duty stop in Hawaii would prove to be the family’s most exotic station before settling down in Jacksonville, FL in 1966. She graduated from Forest High School in 1972 and would marry the love of her life David, just three short years later on October 18, 1975. They would have two daughters, Tiffany and Ryan, lovingly referred to as Death & Destruction. If the Lord would have written in the sky that they were guaranteed a boy, they would’ve had one more, his name would’ve been David Isaac.
Judith was like the Sun, she was warm and drew you in. She raised her daughters with love and wonder and then began working for the Duval County School Board when they began school. She would spend over 20 years pouring into the lives of those around her. The far-reaching effects of her love, compassion and guidance are immeasurable.
Judith loved. She loved to a fault. She loved her Savior, her family, her friends and her church. She sang with anointing and was an innovative Sunday school teacher. She was the most creative activities director in the world and a professional Spoons player. She played softball and when she no longer played, she kept score. It must be said that she did so much more than keep score, three nights a week she changed lives by listening and praying for others.
She is preceded in death by her parents James and Jean; her brother, Jimmy Gilliard; and her son-in-law, John Gearin. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, David; daughters Tiffany Drady (her husband Shane) and Ryan Gearin; sister, Kelli Payne; and her five grandchildren Hannah and Riley Gearin and Isaac, Brayden and Addison Drady.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 26th, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills 850 St. Johns Bluff Road North, Jacksonville, FL 32225.
