Judith “Judy” Andrea (Aycock) Jamison, age 72, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 19, 2022, at Flagler Hospital in St. Augustine, Florida, surrounded by her family. She was born August 17, 1950, in Jacksonville, Florida, the daughter of Thomas and Dorothy (DeShong) Aycock, and was the second of three children. She was a 1968 graduate of Wolfson High School. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. She worked as a registered nurse before devoting her life to raising her sons.
Judy will be remembered as a creative and generous person to all. Her love of the arts in all forms was well known. She herself was quite the artist with skills in jewelry making, stained glass, dance, music, and numerous other mediums. She was passionate for all animals, taking in any animal she found in need. Having numerous cats, dogs, birds, and other animals through her lifetime, she left behind a beloved dog and companion, Betelgeuse. She was generous to many charities and causes related to her life’s passions. She lived to help others and found her greatest joy was giving to others. She greatly enjoyed anything “out of this world”, loving space, stars, and anything extra-terrestrial. She was always looking to go “to infinity, and beyond!” Her children and grandson were her world, always a priority for her.
She is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her brother, Thomas Aycock, and his wife, Mary Anne, of Atlantic Beach; her sister, Cherie Aycock, of Atlantic Beach; her son, Charles “Chase” Jamison, and his wife, Kelly, of Jacksonville; her son, Ian Jamison, and his partner, Stephanie Harlow, of St. Augustine; her grandson, Reef Jamison, of St. Augustine; and nieces, nephews, and other loved ones.
A memorial service for Judy will be held Saturday, October 15, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Chapel, 4801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207.
