John was an amazing husband and father. John was born in Buffalo, NY in April 1944 to John and Mary Wyzykowski. After weathering many winters in Buffalo, he joined the USN in 1961 and retired a Command Master Chief after 30 years of outstanding service to his country. John was an avid Florida Gator and Buffalo Bills fan and could not be disturbed during football season. Florida vs. Florida State weekend was always a time of celebration with entire family, laughing, cheering and eating a lot of leftovers. He loved to golf and fish with his favorite son-in-law Scott and listen to country music with his daughter Christina. John loved to go watch the Bills play football, sing karaoke and drink a few beers with his eldest daughter Phyllis. His favorite pastime was to take his wife, Ruth, on amazing trips across the world including Italy, Hawaii, and many stops along the way. His family was the most important thing in his life to him.
His final wishes were to be surrounded by his family, sitting on the porch, listening to Kris Kristofferson, and drinking a beer.
John is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Ruth Wyzykowski and two daughters Phyllis Wyzykowski, Christina Marble and son-in-law Scott Marble. Loving brother to Patricia (Gerald) Syroczynski, Joanna Wyzykowski, of Lorraine (Lech) Jaworski. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements by Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin, 11801 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, FL (904) 288-0025.
