John attended UNF at night while working at JEA. Once he received his Master’s degree, he retired from JEA with 25 years of service. John then went to work for Lutheran Social Services and after 10 years, he moved on to St. Johns County Mental Health.
John has gone home to be with his Mother, Father and Sister Judy Macknis and other family members. John is survived by his wife Kaye Sanders; his son, John Christopher Sanders and daughter-in-law, Jennifer Sanders; his three grandchildren, Haley Sanders, Keilan Sanders, and Madison Sanders Kirkpatrick. He was also anxiously awaiting the birth of his first great grandchild.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 26th at 10:00 AM with Pastor Garry L. Broward, Officiating, at Baymeadows Baptist Church, 4826 Baymeadows Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32217.
