John “Jack” Harper Moyer passed away peacefully on January 28, 2023, with his family by his side. Jack was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Anna, daughter Lynda Devine (Bob), son John Moyer (Kathy), grandchildren Michael, Kaitlyn, Christopher, Matthew, Avery, and Garrett, and step-grandsons Luke and Pete.
Jack was born on February 14, 1934, in Bristol, Pennsylvania to Ned S. Moyer and Mildred Harper Moyer. He spent his childhood in both Connecticut and Pennsylvania. In 1952, he graduated from Neshaminy High School where he played football and baseball. He continued playing baseball at Millersville State College for two years.
Jack was employed by Rohm and Haas Chemical Company where he worked for forty years, first in the laboratory and later in research. It was there that he met the love of his life. Jack and Anna married in 1958 and settled in Langhorne, Pennsylvania, where they lived and raised their two children. In 2012, they relocated to Jacksonville, Florida to be closer to their daughter and her family.
Jack enjoyed travelling, gardening, fishing, and golfing. He loved family vacations, backyard picnics, the camaraderie he had with his neighbors and golfing friends, and attending his grandchildren’s recitals, sports events, and school functions. It was the love for and from his grandchildren that gave him the most enjoyment in life. His laughter and kindness to all will be dearly missed.
Jack was predeceased by his parents, sister, Joan (Moyer) Sammler, and brother, Ned Moyer, Jr.
Our family would like to thank the nursing staff at Baptist Heart Hospital for the compassion, kindness, and love they showed Jack and our family during this time.
