Hulsey, John Chancellor of Jacksonville, died on Monday, August 18, 2014. A native of Jacksonville, he was born on August 16, 1962. John was the youngest of four children of Mark and June Hulsey. He grew up in Ortega and attended St. Mark's Episcopal Day School and graduated from Episcopal High School in 1980. John attended Suwannee, (the University of the South), and transferred to Florida State University, where he graduated with a BS in Business in 1985. He then acquired his MBA from University of North Florida in 1995. He started his banking career with Florida National Bank, which later was acquired by First Union. He then moved Jacksonville Bank, where he worked for 14 years, and most recently worked at Seaside National Bank. He leaves behind his high school sweetheart and loving and dedicated wife of 27 years, Wendy Hulsey, and his three beloved children, Mary Blaire, Paige Hardin and John Angus McTammany Hulsey. He is also survived by his oldest brother, Mark Hulsey, and his two sisters, Mary Ellen Brown and Catherine Hulsey. Johns's immense love and compassion for life and everyone he met touched so many people and will live on in our hearts. It is an incomprehensible loss for his family and friends, who take comfort in knowing that John has joined his and Wendy's first born son, John Chancellor, in heaven. Memorial services will be held this Friday, August 22, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, followed by a reception in Leatherbury Hall. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to the St. Mark's Memorial Garden. Arrangements are under the direction of Hardage Giddens Funeral Home Edgewood Chapel 729 S. Edgewood Avenue Jacksonville, Florida 32205.
