John Stephen Clubb, 62, died peacefully the evening of December 18, 2024, at Community Hospice & Palliative Care/Hadlow Center. He was surrounded by his devoted family and compassionate caregivers in the days and hours prior to his final transition into God’s kingdom.
John was born June 14, 1962, in Falls Church, Virginia, and he moved to Jacksonville, Florida in 1986. He was a graduate of Broad Run High School in Sterling, Virginia, and he attended Northern Virginia Community College, studying electronics. Over twenty-five years, he worked in the cable and networking industry as a project manager, sales representative, and business developer, recently retiring from Comm Source Data. He was a beloved husband to his wife, Pamela, of 37 years. He will be remembered for his cooking skills, his affable personality, and his quirky wit. He enjoyed preparing special recipes and sharing food with friends and family. He took great pride in his barbecuing skills, especially ribs and chicken. Simply, John knew no stranger, for he had an outgoing personality. He enjoyed talking and keeping up with friends on the phone; he referred to his friends as brothers. His quirky and direct sense of humor often solicited a puzzled look from the listener. His greatest joys included spending time with his family, boating on the St. Johns River, working in the yard, and sitting on the back patio in nature. His favorite holiday included Thanksgiving, preparing a feast for the family. He enjoyed boating and fishing on the river in Welaka, Florida, especially with his daughters in the boat. When neighbors were unable to cut their lawns, he quickly volunteered to help. People in the community often thanked him for being a good friend and neighbor. In retirement, he spent many days on the patio observing the birds, drinking coffee, and talking with friends. Recently, John came to know the Lord as Savior; therefore, as believers, we rejoice in his going home to be with Jesus.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Robert M. Clubb and Dolores A. Clubb, and a brother Raymond E. Clubb and a sister, Nora M. Campbell, and is survived by his wife, Pamela B. Clubb, siblings, Sean J. Clubb, David P. Clubb, Susan A. Barnett, and Linda A. Clapper, and his daughters, Bethany V. Clubb and Madison E. Bell.
During his cancer battle, Mayo Clinic doctors, Community Hospice nurses, and family and friends provided loving care; therefore, we want to thank all those personally involved in John’s cancer journey.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice and Palliative Care.
