John Anthony Allgaier died peacefully surrounded by family on October 7, 2024, at the McGraw Hospice Center in Jacksonville, Florida at the age of 67 after a courageous battle with multiple myeloma cancer.
John was born on June 29, 1957, to Dorthy and John Allgaier in San Diego, California. His family then relocated to Tampa, Florida. John went on to graduate from King High School and soon kickstarted his career at Anheuser Busch in the brewery where he worked for 44 years before retiring in 2022 from the Jacksonville location.
John married the love of his life, Cheri and had three wonderful children Stephanie, Melissa and Johnny. John was a beloved friend, husband, father and grandfather. He loved the beach and spending his time with his beautiful grandchildren, children and his soulmate Cheri. John’s unwavering positive attitude, infectious humor, and ability to love and be loved by others is truly his everlasting legacy.
John was predeceased by his parents John Allgaier and Dorthy Allgaier, and his brother George Allgaier. He is survived and missed by his beloved wife Cheri Allgaier, children, Stephanie Sport (Michael Sport), Melissa Diaz (Sonia Diaz) and John Allgaier (Mary Beth Allgaier), his grandchildren Lily Sport, Brody Sport and Sadie Sport and his sister Diane Allgaier (Stephen Johnson).
John’s departure comes as a great shock and deep wound, and it is gravely felt by his entire family and countless others who loved him deeply in his wide network of community.
A celebration of life service will be held at Isle of Faith United Methodist Church 1821 San Pablo Road South, Jacksonville, Florida 32224, on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at 11:00am. In honor of John’s love of Hawaiian/fish shirts, please dress comfortably.
