James K. Andrew (Jim) of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away on September 8, 2022, at the age of 85. After fighting the effects of Parkinson, he died peacefully with his beloved wife, Julie Acosta Andrew, by his side.
Jim was born in Chicago, Illinois, on July 28, 1937, to father, Dale Andrew and mother, Mary Wall Andrew. He had a fun, sarcastic personality and enjoyed flirting with everyone. When he was a teenager, he participated in a few off-road races with his roadster. As an adult he enjoyed watching car races and attended several Daytona 500 speedway races as well as the Gatornationals. He was an avid football fan, always cheering for the University of Florida and his favorite NFL teams.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert Dale Andrew. He is survived by his wife, Julie Acosta Andrew; children Darlene Andrew Linge (husband Daniel Linge), Sherri Andrew McCormack (husband Joe McCormack) and Jennifer VanderWier (husband James VanderWier); grandchildren Daniel Linge Jr, Joshua Linge, Shane McCormack (wife Alex McCormack), Kelly McCormack Hedges (husband Evans Hedges) and Mia VanderWier.
A celebration of Jim’s life planned for Thursday, October 27, at 10:00 a.m. At Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home located at 11801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32223. All are invited to attend.
