Jerry Ronald Smith Sr.

Jerry Ronald Smith Sr., of Jacksonville, FL passed away on June 21, 2020. Jerry was born February 14, 1950 in Waycross., GA to Evan Everett Smith and Mittie Jewell Griggs Smith. He married Carolyn Diane Toland on April 23, 1968.

Jerry worked for Florida Publishing Company for 40 years and retired in 2018. He had a passion for coaching baseball, restoring cars and dancing to oldies music.

He is survived by wife of 52 years Carolyn Smith; sons Jerry Smith, Jr. and Jonathan Wright; daughter Angela Smith; grandchildren Zachary Bullock, Christina Smith, Jerry Smith III, Jonathan Kobylarz, Heaven Wright, Nevaeh Wright, Brooklyn Wright and Leyton Dean; great-granddaughter Alicyn Bullock; siblings Gary F. Smith, Linda Smith and Ricky Smith. Jerry was preceded in death by daughter Brenda C. Smith; siblings Evan Everette Smith, Billy W. Smith, Donnie E. Smith, Raymond Smith and Sandra D. Smith.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 26, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Hardage Giddens Riverside Memorial Park and Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior beginning at 10:00 a.m. A Committal Service will follow the funeral service at Riverside Memorial Park.
