James "Kenny" Kenneth Wilkes

James “Kenny” Wilkes, 74, went to be with Jesus Monday, November 8, 2021. Kenny was born October 16, 1947, in Jacksonville, FL the son of Myrtle Fletcher Wilkes and Lessie Vernon Wilkes. He was a long-time resident of St. Johns County. Kenny was a successful business owner of Harwil Fixtures in St. Augustine for 37 years. He belonged to Ashlar Masonic Lodge and served as the President of St. Johns County Shrine Club in 1995. He had a passion for giving to the children of need. Kenny was a loving devoted husband to Barbara Hopke Wilkes for 32 years. He loved his family with all his heart. His family never doubted his love for them because he always told them so and would never let them leave without a hug and kiss. He had friends like no other who were always there for him, and he loved them all.

He is proceeded in death by his father, Lessie Wilkes and mother, Myrtle Wilkes.

He is survived by wife Barbara Wilkes, and his children Cynthia Sullivan (James), Samantha Rayan, Shannon Everett (Randall), Sherry Mulligan (Thomas), James Wilkes Jr., Preston Boles (Emily), Morgan Swearengin (Charles), 20 Grandchildren and 21 Great Grandchildren.

A visitation for James will be held Friday, November 12, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Chapel, 4801 SAN JOSE BLVD, JACKSONVILLE, FL 32207. A funeral service will occur Friday, November 12, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 4801 SAN JOSE BLVD, JACKSONVILLE, FL 32207. A committal service will occur Friday, November 12, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Oaklawn Cemetery, 4801 SAN JOSE BLVD, JACKSONVILLE, FL 32207.
