James B. ”Snap” Suits, age 94, passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2013 in Jacksonville, FL. James was born May 4, 1918 in Jacksonville, Florida to Charles Barr and Audell (Jones) Suits. James served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a member of Lane Avenue Church of God. James worked for Seaboard Railroad for several years, and retired from a career with JEA as a meter reader. He was an avid racing fan and helped build and work on race cars for his grandson Derek. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, three sisters, and one son Larry W. Suits (Beverly Kay). Survivors include his son James L. Suits; two sisters Rosemary Suits-Jarrard (Roland) and Donna Fouraker; two grandsons Derek and Jeffrey Suits (Staci); one great grandchild Lennon Suits; longtime companion and caregiver Clara Kilgore. Family will receive family and friends from 10:00 - 11:00 am, Monday, January 21, 2013 at Lane Avenue Church of God, 2956 Lane Avenue North, Jacksonville, FL 32254. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 11:00 am at the church with Pastor Steve DuBose and Pastor Phil Wyatt officiating. Interment will follow services in Riverside Memorial Park.
