Hee Yoon Kim, 73, of Jacksonville, passed away while surrounded by his family and friends on Monday, April 04, 2016 from medical complications at St. Vincent’s Medical Center Southside in Jacksonville, Florida. He was born February 15, 1943, in Seoul, South Korea.
Mr. Kim loved fishing, golfing and spending time with his lovely wife and family. He was also an active elder member of the Korean Presbyterian Church in Jacksonville where he spent countless hours reaching out to others and helping the community. As a result, he was thought of as a leader and a father figure to many. His influence will forever remain in the lives and hearts of all that knew him.
Mr. Kim is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Hye Jong Kim; along with two children, son MD Kim and daughter Melanie Kim-Diaz, two grandchildren, grandson Erik Lee and granddaughter Kalin Lee, two brothers, Hee Chun Kim and Hee Young Kim, two sisters, Geum Yeon Song and Geum Jal Park and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Mr. Kim was preceded in death by his parents, Soon Shin Kim and Jung Nam Park and eldest brother Hee Tek Kim.
A visitaion is to be held from 7:00pm-9:00pm, Thursday, April 07, at Hardage-Giddens Greenlawn Funeral Home, 4300 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32207. The memorial service is to be held from 11:00am-12:00pm, Friday, April 08, at the Korean Presbyterian Church, 856 Margaret St., Jacksonville, FL 32204. Burial to follow service at Hardage-Giddens Greenlawn Funeral Home. Post-funeral reception to be held at the Korean Presbyterian Church.
