She graduated from Ware County High School and Coastal Georgia College of Nursing. She was a La Leche League Leader, a philanthropist, a member of the Junior League of Waycross, a volunteer with the Episcopal Church and Episcopal High School. She will be remembered for her passion, her wit, her charm, her love of china and her loving heart . She most loved spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 31 years, John Duncan Cameron Winship; a son, John Duncan Cameron Winship, Jr. (wife Catherine Strauss) and grandson, Grant Cameron Winship of Orlando, FL; two daughters, Valerie Jordanna Winship of Atlanta, GA and Aubrey Page Winship of Jacksonville, FL; and her half sister, Tina Aline (husband Ken Allen).
Treasured wife, mother, and friend, Gloria will be loved and dearly missed by all who knew her. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, July 21, 2011 at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, 7500 Southside Blvd. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5-7pm. HARDAGE-GIDDENS OAKLAWN CHAPEL, 4801 San Jose Blvd is serving the family.
