Gloria Pauline Nasrallah Price

Gloria was born in Jacksonville, Florida on May 12, 1936 to Shafica and Andrew K. Nasrallah. She is predeceased by her parents, her loving husband of 58 years, Henry W. Price, Jr. and her older brothers, Fred, Andrew, Herbert and Richard Nasrallah and her son-in-law, Mike Huttenlocher. She is survived by sons, Bobby (Debbie), David (Patti), Steve (Kim) Price and her daughter, Kellie Huttenlocher. She also leaves seven grandchildren, Jason (Amanda) Price, Whitney (Brett) Pickett, Andrew and Matthew Price, Kaitlyn (Joel) Durrance, Zachary Price and Emma Huttenlocher as well as five great grandchildren; Bode, Crew, Ryder, Azalea and J.C. She was also loved by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was a dear sister-in-law to Rachel Nasrallah as well as a favorite aunt to many. We would be remiss not to mention her “sister from another mother’, Catherine Mason. Catherine adored Mimi and Mimi loved Catherine. We are extremely grateful for her love and care for Mimi these past seven years.

Gloria grew up in Riverside and attended West Riverside Elementary, John Gorrie and Robert E. Lee High School. She then went on to graduate from the University of Florida with a degree in Education. She taught school for many years at Hendricks Day School and was loved by all her students.

Gloria had many titles. Daughter, sister, sister-in-law, wife, mom, Mrs. Price to her students, and Mimi to her grandchildren. Of all these titles, Mimi was her favorite as she adored her grandchildren and loved them fiercely. She and Pop did their best to attend every sporting activity, dance and piano recital as well as school plays and events. We think it’s safe to say, that all of the grandchildren’s friends also knew Mimi and Pop.

You could always count on a fantastic meal at her home whether it be a weekday dinner, a weekend dinner party or bridge luncheon, Mimi was an incredible cook. While she did use many recipes, we’ve all learned some of her dishes just can’t be duplicated. It was obviously the perfect portion of love she added to each dish that made her cooking so special.

After retiring from teaching, she remained active with her bunco and bridge groups and as well as her bowling team. We all knew where we could find her every Thursday. We would often pop in to the bowling alley to share a lunch and a laugh with her bowling ladies and her “Clueless” Team Members.

Family and friends whom she treated like family were the most important to Mimi. She instilled in all of us the importance of being together. Friday Night Happy Hours were always fun. Their door was always open to stop by for a refreshment and a snack and catch up on the details of the week. If you were lucky enough to be there when they ordered their Friday night Luigi’s Pizza, you were lucky indeed! We still gather as a big family as often as we can and when we’re together, it’s a party!

Her celebration of life will be held on Monday, August 12, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Southside Methodist Church. A reception will follow in the Family Life Center.
