Mrs. Georgia Mae Pughsley Fulmer, age 98, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at McGraw Center/Community Hospice. Georgia was born on September 2, 1914, an only child, to the late George Warren and Etta Mae Pughsley.
Georgia graduated from Andrew Jackson High School in 1932. She also attended Massey Business College. Her career spans working as a mortgage underwriter with Fidelity Federal Savings & Loan, hostess and receptionist for Sav-A-Stop where she retired in 1978. After retirement she prided herself with volunteering as a Ladies Auxiliary at Beaches Baptist Hospital in the Emergency Room.
Georgia loved and enjoyed her family immensely and was always very active. She traveled extensively, often taking trips to Maggie Valley, NC, traveling to various cities to see the Florida Gators play and going on numerous cruises throughout the Caribbean.
Georgia is predeceased by her husband Francis Hobson Fulmer and son Hobson Francis Fulmer. Surviving family members include her daughter Faye Seymour Allen of Ponte Vedra Beach, grandson John Seymour, III of Gainesville, FL, granddaughters Angela Dubose of Ponte Vedra Beach, Cheryl Strickland (Craig) of Fairhope, AL, great-grandchildren Shayne Seymour (Samira Gjokhila) and Jessica Dubose (Aaron Taylor) both of Jacksonville, FL, Robert Strickland and Alex Strickland both of Fairhope, AL, great-great grandchildren Emma Seymour and Logan Taylor both of Jacksonville, FL. Georgia always prayed for a large family and was so blessed to finally have one with so much love.
A viewing will be held from 12-1pm, Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills Funeral Home 850 St. Johns Bluff Road North, Jacksonville, FL, 32225 with services to follow at 1:00pm in the chapel. Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Park.
